Sometimes an issue can appear where the SoftwareIDM.ElasticSearch service will stop and cannot be started. The start failure may come to attention because search doesn't work, or due to periodic emails from Panel Check.
The most common cause of this issue is upgrading the Java installation and failing to update JAVA_HOME.
You can fix the issue by checking the current active Java installation and editing the JAVA_HOME system environment variable. Alternatively you can run the PanelSetup.exe install prerequisites step, and it will identify and create the missing variable.
